Soundtrack for the Invasion of Earth

Holy crap this is getting long. And every day I think, "Ooo, musn't forget that gig..." 26 years of going to shows will do that to you.

Still in progress. Don't expect much in the way of critical analysis, I'm more likely to remember that I drank half a bottle of lemon gin in the ally before the gig and threw up in the mosh pit than I am that the guitar was tuned a half-note sharp all night.

I know there is stuff missing from this list. I know I have seen Dayglo Abortions, Bobs Your Uncle, Furnace Face, The Doughboys, The Ripcordz and The 39 Steps. I have seen tons of live bands at Larry's Hideaway, The Gasworks and Lee's Palace in Toronto and at The Trasheteria and the Albion Hotel in Guelph. I've been to all-day outdoor blues festivals and watched teenagers play horrific metal in record-store basements.

I just can't remember much about it.

Bands I Will See One Day
Skunk Anansie Old-fashioned ass-kicking rock music. And I have a huge crush on the singer.

Pop Will Eat Itself. The Poppies played in the UK this winter and I am JEALOUS.

Tanzwut. German industrial bagpipe music. I shit you not. Their version of Ode to Joy has got to be heard to be believed.
